Twin Cities: Linden Hills / Southwest / Lake Harriet

Linden Hills is a small town in the city

Nestled between the south shores of Lake Calhoun and the west side of Lake Harriet, in Southwest Minneapolis, is a neighborhood unique unto itself. Often referred to as ‘a small town in the City’ Linden Hills represents the ideal in urban living. This is a community that offers interesting boutique shops, unique restaurants and a variety of parks with tennis courts, playgrounds and picnic areas.

Linden Hills features three commercial districts, three separate schools, a public library, and seven churches. Extraordinary public parks double with tree-lined boulevards to tie the neighborhood together. Historic homes also make Linden Hills a truly unique urban neighborhood. Developed in the 1880s to entice homebuyers to leave downtown for cottages on Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet, Linden Hills has seen most of its original cottages replaced by large bungalows and Tudors.

The East Harriet neighborhood is home to the Lyndale Park Gardens and Rose Gardens, which is near full bloom mid-June. Another well-known Minneapolis landmark resides in this neighborhood, especially for morning people. The Java Jax and Rustica Bakery duo finds itself in East Harriet, happily fueling up this neighborhood with lattes and croissants.

Bordering Fulton

Bordering Edina, the Fulton Neighborhood gets the best of both worlds. Taking the name of Robert Fulton, the engineer and artist who invented the steamboat in the 19th century, this neighborhood is part city, part suburb. Minnehaha Creek runs through Fulton, as does a large commercial district that extends well into Edina, making it an ideal place for those who like to shop just as much as they like to hike.

First Time Home Buyers

David guided us through our first home purchase with skill and patience. We always knew what the next steps would be, from our first meeting to closing. We appreciated how responsive he was via email, text, or phone call whenever we had questions. David was right on with his assessments of the market and was also an excellent source of references for home inspection, maintenance, and remodeling after closing. We highly recommend him!
